THUG LIFE...

There was a "thug" looking guy sitting next to me at the cell phone store. (yeah, I know it's not P.C., so what?) He was waiting his turn with a cute little boy who had his shoes on the wrong feet and you know me... I struck up a conversation with him. He looked kinda scary at first he was big and imposing. (anyway) I made a comment that if I wore my shoes like that it would kill my feet. He agreed and said the little boy was his youngest of 4. The guy didn't look older than 25. We talked about raising kids and he said it is hard when they are all little, he and his wife work 2 jobs, etc. Then I sat there thinking to myself. If I had just seen this guy on the street, I would think twice about him just by the way he looked. He definitely looked gentler the more I talked to him. By the time I left he kind of restored my faith in people and helped reaffirm what I already knew about not judging a book by its cover. Think what you want about what I just said, but it's true. We all have preconceived notions about people, good bad or indifferent. I was expecting this guy to maybe give me a one or two word comment after I engaged him in conversation, just like most men. He just started talking. It was refreshing. I am tired of people always being so private and not talking to strangers. Look, I'm bored too and this brief moment that I am talking to you helps pass the time. I am not going to stalk you or follow you home. If you didn't want to talk to me, I can take a hint and I understand body language. But for once, I was pleasantly surprised.

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY....

We have a new president.
I will believe the changes when I see them.
Everyone here at work has all this inauguration stuff live streaming on their computers. Like I have said many times before, I stay apolitical on this blog and will remain so.
I just want everything to go smooth, I want the economy to come back around and I want Wall Street to stop being so jumpy.
The sky is not falling.

Those are my thoughts for today, take them or leave them.

Well, my son and I made up. We worked really hard to see each other's point of view. So, we are cool right now. Of course with teens that could change with the wind.
I joined Facebook the other night. Yes, I became one of the lemmings. Hey at least it's not Myspace! I have actually been in contact with some of the people that I have always liked and wondered whatever happened to them. That is a good feeling. I am sure when the newness wears off I won't care as much. I'm kinda lazy like that.
Let me tell you, I AM excited that one of my buds is getting ready to have her baby the end of this month and I am done packing the box and getting ready to ship it out once I get paid. There will be one more very important thing I have to send out when I am finished making it, but it should be done before she arrives. Ohhh I can NOT wait!

Your Word is "Peace"

You see life as precious, and you wish everyone was safe, happy, and taken care of.

Social justice, human rights, and peace for all nations are all important to you.

While you can't stop war, you try to be as calm and compassionate as possible in your everyday life.

You promote harmony and cooperation. You're always willing to meet someone a little more than halfway.

TEENAGE BOYS SUCK!!!

You all know that I love my son with every beat of my heart but damn!
WTF!
He now has math tutoring every M-W-F. I guess I failed to tell him that. He went Wednesday and I suppose he didn't realize this was going to be a regular thing. Well, we got up early this morning and got ready to leave and he asked why we were leaving so early. I told him and he flew off the handle. He ripped off his coat, went in his room and opened his book like he was going to start reading. I told him to get off his ass and get in my car. He did, but he slammed the door and pouted the whole way. As a courtesy I e-mailed his teacher to apologize for his ill temper this morning. She e-mailed me back saying that he never showed up to class.
HE SKIPPED TUTORING!!!
LIKE I WOULD NEVER EVER FIND OUT!!!
I raised a dumbass! Can you believe that?

HERE WE GO....

O.K. I have to preface this with I have tons more pics but I like these and I posting these, so there!

We ate shrimp
...and oysters.
Some of us were camera shy...
and some of us weren't. This is my BRO1 and his wife. I haven't seen them in a long time. They didn't join us for Thanksgiving this year so it was good to finally see them.
This is my BRO2 and the hubby hanging out. They really enjoy each others company.
That's awesome.
Ahh... to be this young and in love...
Peace out homies!
