WEEKEND?!?! WHAT WEEKEND!!!

I didn't have a really good weekend. I mean any weekend is a "good" weekend. This weekend just kinda sucked. Friday night GF and I went to a restaurant that both of us had heard about. The Driftaway on Skidaway. I have to admit the food was awesome, some of the best I had ever had. The only problem was the live entertainment on the front porch. Some LOUD dude was playing his guitar and playing awful music and this old lady was dancing with any old coot she could get her whorish old claws on. I mean it could be worse I guess the "floor show" from our vantage point was a little much. I now know to sit away from the front door next time. Anyway we had a good evening, rented a couple of movies and I spent the night at GF's house, that was cool.

Saturday we were supposed to go to an oyster roast but it was rained out. I came home and did 4 loads of laundry. Hubby was going to paint the bathroom, but..... he slept all day.

He is still trying to get over the flu so I really do understand. LM has had the flu for a little over a week now. I swear I need to leave until they get well. I can't stand all the coughing and boogers here!!!

Anyway, today I went to Keller's Flea Market. A.K.A. "Redneck U.S.A." The kids wanted to see the animals. Good, glad that's over rather quickly.

Then I went to work. Yes folks my boss comes back from his vacation tomorrow and I fear his return. I finished a lot of menial work, but the poo is gonna slap that fan SO HARD when he comes back.... I can't talk about it yet, but after it hits, I'll fill you in....

THAT'S IT, IT HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED!!!

That's right! My dear sweet Little Man wrote his first love note only to get totally DISSED!!! OMG! She said she was not interested in even being his friend let alone to ever be seen in public with him. Oh the pain and horror! So of course as every good mom would think to do..... I told him she probably only wrote that so her friends won't pick on her. Or of course on the other hand she just may not be that in to you. (there is always THAT possibility) Then as any good mom with a tween son I fixed it with a trip to the movies with popcorn and soda. At his age that fixes just about anything. I remember the anxiety with all that boy/girl stuff at that age. Poor little guy, if he only knew what lies ahead. Talk about many a night of mending your broken heart. I would go out with the girls and totally guy-bash. That always made me feel better. Right now he is very sensitive but pretty soon he is going to get testosterone and all that will be over. Wish me luck and strength to say the right thing.

Oh and I hope I don't embarrass him in front of his friends any time soon.... *heehee*

YAY!!! I WAS A FEATURE STORY OF MY FRIEND CHER'S BLOG!!!

Well, Cupcake and I both were. We sent Cher some goodie boxes because she is so awesome. BUT we sent those boxes almost a month ago. She got them on Valentines Day!!! What a good way to start the week...

This is one of my favorite blogs. I happened upon it one day while I was at work and I have been coming back every other day for an update. Jon is really sweet and I just love his pictures. So please pop over and see what he has to say.

I spent the night at one of my friend's house last night. Her husband was out of town, she is very pregnant and didn't want to be alone (just in case)... So while I was there I sorted all her baby shower gifts. I washed everything and started setting up her nursery. Not to mention I made her the "best grits in the world"(she really said that too). I take great pride in that considering I am a Yankee through and through. She is a Southerner all the way. We still like each other very much despite this one little difference. I do make good grits.

I never had them (grits) before I moved to Georgia, then I was very hesitant about trying them. I decided to try and cook them and have liked them ever since. Southern food is strange to my Yankee palate but I do like it. I have to admit their "comfort food" is very fattening and very yummy. My boss has never had mashed potatoes with his T-giving turkey. He thinks that is gross. Instead he has white rice and gravy. THAT is strange. They have fried chicken ALL THE TIME! Not to mention Mac & Cheese. These are all ok food, but not what I was brought up on. If I need comfort foods, I love corn chowder or some chicken and dumplings. I LOVE salad of any kind. I can't live without soups. A lot of times it is just too hot to eat soup here in the south. I wish I lived a little more north, but the hubby makes the bigger paycheck so we go where he can get the $$$. I would love to go where there is a change of seasons. I love the mountains (I'm from the mountains). I hate snow so it can't be too far north. I just get bored with rain or not rain... that is our choice here.

O.K. O.K. so I am ramling on and on but y'all love me anyway. Hope everyone had a great weekend and don't forget to visit Jon when you get a minute....

Little man has been up to no good (with school as usual). Baby girl is getting moody (does that mean that puberty is almost here?!?!). The hubby is a total procrastinator. Me, I am just trying to get by without killing the whole lot of them. Wish me luck, give me words of encouragement or at least laugh with me so I don't cry....

Wednesday was my 14th wedding anniversary. I worked late and we didn't do anything special. We as a family are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate.

Things sure have changed since we got married... We used to have sex ALL the time (I mean ALL THE TIME!!!). Well I guess kids do put a damper on that. We used to talk a LOT more than we do now. He wasn't so bald and I wasn't so old. I will post (soon) a before pic and a now pic of us. I do like us much more now. I think we make a pretty good team over all, even though at times he is the MOST aggravating human I have ever known!!! I am sure on the flip side I am not that easy to live with either. Kinda cancel each other out, huh?

A LITTLE BIT BUMMIN....

I sent one of my favorite mommys-to-be a goodie box on the 21st of January and the post office said that it would be there in 4-6 working days... I paid $$$ for it to be there in a timely manner. Now I see why postal workers go postal!!! It's still not there yet and I'm bummin. They say when it rains it pours, well it's been raining a LOT there and pouring right in to her basement.
