80' DUMBASS IS AT IT AGAIN....
Well I just got a call from Little Man's band teacher (I said band teacher let that sink in for a minute). He skipped class because it was,"beneath" him. So he decided to go to gym instead. I am so gonna kill him when I get home. He is a bratty little BRAT! First the porn, then the infamous bus incident, now this. I am gonna take him out behind the woodshed tonight.
If anyone out there has some good advice before I kill him, I would really appreciate it!

Hi Big Mama --- as a former investigator that did some computer investigations.......I recommend some very good parental control software, maybe even getting some spyware like a keylogger in the event he is chatting with anyone online. Some people will say this is too intrusive, but 11yr olds are very impressionable at this age and I would hate to hear any bad stories about an online experiance.
Is something going on at school or with his friends possibly, that he doesn't want to talk to you about? These seems to be some signs of something bugging him. I sound like an ABC back to school special.

Thanks I may end up calling on you... I have a meeting set up with his team at school next Wednesday to see if anything is going on there and with his psychologist of Thursday. I hope to get to the bottom of this real soon. He has been acting out ever since he was hanging out with my nephew (spawn) this last weekend. I will post everything as it unfolds...
well i just have to say, skipping out of class is unacceptable as a parent. but as a student who never went to class, i get it. he is bored with a capital B. Although i didn't quite understand the whole skipping out of class to go to another class deal. i mean, did he think he would go unnoticed in the wrong class? when i skipped out, i at least didn't show up for any classes! lol. but then again, that is also why i didn't graduate and was delivering pizzas at 31 years old and live with regret all the time that i didn't take school more seriously. have you explainged to him that school honestly is like a drop in the bucket of life and in a couple years he will wonder why he didn't try harder? i never got that speach. mind you, i also didn't have parents who had time to ask if i had homework or were ever home to answer the phone to say i wasn't in class.
i feel for you big mama. just remember to keep your cool. be firm, but screaming at him is never goingto solve anything because it will just make him angree and he honestly won't hear a word you are saying.

maybe try a field trip to a jail or a street filled with bums as a dreastic measure. i don't know, that may be a really bad idea.
After I talk with him tonight I will get back with you. You really seem like you know where he is coming from. I may need another pep talk or maybe a little more advise.
I think taking him over to the west side may not be a bad idea. But of course I don't want to get mugged/raped or shot... hmmm...
